Nederland Budgeting 101

Alex Armani-Munn, Nederland.  The Town of Nederland hosted Community Budgeting 101-A Public Charrette on the evening of August 25. About 20-30 community members attended the event to learn about Town operations and to provide input on 2016 Budget priorities. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with Town staff and elected officials and were also able to provide written comments, which will be considered by the Board of Trustees as it develops the 2016 Budget.

A second budget charrette will be held Monday, October 19 from 6-8 p.m. at the Nederland Community Center. A draft of the 2016 Budget will be available for review at the October 19 charrette, and attendees will once again have the opportunity to provide comments directly to Town staff and elected officials.

The BOT will consider final approval of the budget at their regular meeting on Tues., December 1.

Questions and comments related to the 2016 Budget can be submitted to Town staff electronically by emailing info@nederlandco.org or to the BOT by emailing bot@nederlandco.org.

Budget-related questions and comments can also be submitted in person by completing a comment form at Nederland Town Hall, 45 W. First Street. Hard copies of past budgets are also available for community members to review at Town Hall, open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. or online at: http://nederlandco.org/government/town-departments/finance/
