Summer scrimmage

football fayden and hatBarbara Lawlor, Nederland.  Last week, Nederland High School football players hosted a Fairview High School Football Camp. Fairview’s huge team took over the Ned field to learn or work on skills for the upcoming football season.

The annual scrimmage has become a tradition that offers the NHS football team a chance to practice as well as take on the FHS junior varsity team in running plays.

It was five days long, in summer heat, with drills at altitude—a camp that can only make the two teams more prepared for the football season.

The Ned boys will begin practice Monday, August 17; the first scrimmage will be on August 28; and the first game of the season in on Friday, September 4, at Elbert. The first home game is on Saturday, September 19 at 1 p.m. against Vail.
