Gilpin County Sheriff Report June

Gilpin SheriffOn Tuesday, June 10, at 0055 hrs, I was dispatched to 282 Timber Drive on a cold assault. Victim refused to press charges. Case closed

On Thursday, June 12, at approximately 1300 hours a sergeant who was working the jail booking desk at 2960 Dory Hill Road, Black Hawk, was told  that a person with an active warrant for their arrest was located in the Sheriff`s Office lobby.  The person was contacted and they were taken into custody and escorted to the jail for processing.

On June 12, the U.S. Marshals lodged a detainer on a Gilpin County Jail Prisoner. The detainer was processed and the prisoner was notified.

On Friday, June 13, an adult female called the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office and reported a sexual assault. The sexual assault was reported to have occurred two years ago.  A report was taken and forwarded to investigations for further follow up.

On June 13, a Deputy conducted a traffic stop, The driver was found to be revoked HTO and was arrested.

On June 13, at approximately 2315 hours, a deputy observed a dark colored car westbound at a high rate of speed on Highway 46 Mile Post 5.3.  The vehicle was locked on radar at 58 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. The driver then fled from the deputy.  The car was contacted approximately 15 minutes later. A driver was determined from the initial eluding case and that person was found to have a felony warrant.  He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.

On Saturday, June 14, a Deputy responded to a report of a possible trespass. While in the area, a driver was found to be driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and processed into the jail.
On Sunday, June 15, at approximately 1020 hours, a deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding an identity theft case. The reporting party found fraudulent charges to their bank account and credit card. The case has been forwarded to the Investigations Division.

On Monday, June 16, at approximately 0800 hours, a deputy was requested to respond to the lobby of the Sheriff`s Office to meet with a party about a theft. A report was completed and the case was forwarded to the Investigations Division.

On June 16, at approximately 1600 hours, a deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding a civil matter.  It was later found that a motorcycle had been stolen from the property.  The deputy completed a report and entered the vehicle as stolen.

On June 16, at approximately 0900 hours, a Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office deputy received a complaint of theft.  Case is closed, unfounded.

An adult male and female reported they received harassing telephone calls at their residence. The calls were made repeatedly, and during the late evening hours. No suspects identified at this time.

On June 16, at approximately 1325 hours, a Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office deputy received a complaint regarding a stolen vehicle.

On Friday, June 20, an adult male reported that he was assaulted on Highway 119 while riding his bicycle.  The male reported an adult male, driving a pickup truck, confronted him three different times, and during one of those times assaulted him. A suspect was identified and possible charges are pending.

On June 20 at approximately 1935 hours deputies took a report of a cold burglary at a residence in mid-county. An investigation was opened.

On June 22 at approximately 1910 hours a deputy took a report of an animal complaint. One of the dog owners was issued a summons to court.

On June 22 at approximately 1947 hours deputies responded to the report of an assault in progress along Highway 119 in south county. An investigation was conducted and one party was booked into the county jail.
