Last Shot named in syndicated cartoon

When a customer told Roy Stewart, owner of Roy’s Last Shot, that he was a syndicated cartoonist who lived part time in Rollinsville, Roy thought that was cool and didn’t think much more about it. Then about a month ago, a friend brought in a copy of “Zits” comic strip in the Denver Post from February 19.
Roy looked at it closely and sure enough, the comic strip showed 15-year-old  Jeremy Duncan’s father holding a coffee mug inscribed with “Roy’s Last Shot.”
“I was so excited,” said Roy, “that I began a wood carving of the comic strip. It was so cool to be named in a nationwide comic strip.”
Jim Borgman created editorial cartoons for the Cincinnati Enquirer since 1976, and then, with Jerry Scott, came up with” Zits,” a comic strip about a teenage boy. The strip came out in 1997 and within one year, it was syndicated by King Features to over 500 newspapers. It now appears in about 1,000 newspapers worldwide and has been voted the Best Comic Strip in two consecutive years by the National Cartoonists Society.
