Eagle girls at 2 wins, 2 losses

In the past week, the Gilpin County Eagles’ girls’ basketball team won one game and lost two close games.
On Tuesday, December 10, the Eagles hosted Deer Trail and beat them soundly, 41-22, out front all the way. Elinora Einarsdottir was the high scorer with 17 points and Andromeda Ramsey had a double double with 10 points and 15 rebounds. The girls at this point were undefeated with a 2-0 record.

On Friday, December 13, Gilpin traveled to Idaho Springs to play the Clear Creek Gold Diggers and crumbled in the fourth quarter, going in with a 20-18 lead and leaving with a 29-34 loss. Elinora Einarsdottir was high scorer with 11 pts and Delainey Lepro led with five rebounds.

On Saturday, December 14, the Eagles played Middle Park and lost a heart-breaker, 30-34. Elinora Einarsdottir had 11 pts and Delainey Lepro had a total of 17 rebound—maybe a record.
