Nederland High School Girls CC team Qualifies

After steadily improving with each meet during the season, the Nederland girls’ cross-country team took second place at the regional competition at Broomfield Commons Park last Friday, Oct. 18. The championship was hosted by Lyon High School.
There were 14 Class 2A teams in the 5K event. All athletes who finished in the top 15 places qualified for state and three members of each team scored for team results.
There were 48 athletes in the regional competition. The second place status qualified Nederland for state competition which will take place this Saturday at the Norris Penrose event Center in Colorado Springs.
Bailey Kuechenmeister, Sophia Lindenberger and James McNamara qualified individually for state.

This is the sixth consecutive year that the Panther cross-country girls have qualified for state competition as a team. Last year, the girls came in sixth place at state with the same runners competing.
