Early Morning Stabbing

This morning, June 19, 2013, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Boulder County Sheriff’s deputies, emergency personnel from the Nederland Fire Protection District and American Medical Response, responded to the 5000 block of Ridge Road near the Nederland area on a report of a stabbing.

One Suspect in Custody After Early Morning Stabbing Near Nederland

The preliminary investigation indicates that a group of Boulder County residents in their late teens to early twenties were camping in the area. Two people among the group got into an altercation where one was stabbed. The victim, a 17 year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol and drug use is suspected to be involved.

The suspect, a 19 year-old male, Spencer Crawford of Boulder, date of birth 8-25-1993, was contacted near the location of the altercation and has been arrested for one count of First Degree Murder, a class 2 felony. He is currently being held at the Boulder County Jail.

The identification of the deceased person will be released by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office once identification has been confirmed and family members notified.

An active investigation is on-going today and a mug shot will not be released at this time.

Update

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of a 17 year-old male who died on 06/19/2013, near the 5200 Block of Ridge Road in Rural Boulder County, Colorado.

He has been identified as Angus Gaudin, of Boulder, Colorado.

An autopsy Will be completed and the Cause and manner of death are pending further investigation.
