These trails are accessible from the Town of Nederland. They are listed in order of ease of access and technical difficulty.
Conditions – June 12, 2013: All loops are free of snow and mud.
Boot & Reboot
Conditions – June 12, 2013: Free of snow and mud. Ride ‘em before they get dusty.
Lower West Magnolia
Conditions – June 12, 2013: Snow free but some serious tree blow down. If you can move a downed tree off the trail, please do so. Sugar Magnolia, Pungy, Aspen Alley, Lookout, Overlook, The Hobbits, etc. are all open. Things look a lot different but the trails are still there and the views are amazing.
There are currently no temporary closures – this means that Reroot is now open.
Upper West Magnolia
Conditions – June 12, 2013: Bus ‘n Shack is clear from the top down! The lone snow drift is at the creek crossing where there is always a lingering snow drift. Ride over/through the drift, not around. All of the other higher up trails in this area are clear of snow, but may have some trees blown across the trail. Practice your ‘cross skills and go over the trees – please don’t create unnecessary braiding of the trails.
Boy Scout Trails (AKA The Dots)
Conditions – June 12, 2013: Trails are still quite nice, but quickly getting dusty. Ride ‘em now! If you encounter an obstacle you don’t think you can ride, please walk the line – don’t create a go-around.
These trails are a bit further from town. They tend to be longer rides and more technically challenging.
Golden Gate Canyon State Park
Conditions – June 12, 2013: All trails are free of snow and riding well. There is a day use fee if parking in the Park.
Sourdough/South St. Vrain/Etc.
Conditions – June 12, 2013: I’ve received reports that these trails are good to go! Some minor drifting, so make sure to ride through/over, not around. For the roadies, the road around Brainard Lake has been plowed and currently the gate is still closed to vehicle traffic .
