At 12:34 p.m. on Tuesday, a man, about 6 feet tall, clean shaven, wearing a yellow knit hat, orange sunglasses, shorts and a backpack, walked into Mutual of Omaha Bank and slipped one of the tellers a note, demanding that she give him all the money in her drawer. There was no indication that the man was armed, no force was used and no one was hurt.
The teller complied with his demand and the man walked out of the bank. It was suspected he fled on foot. The Nederland Police Department was immediately contacted, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation were called in. It is not known whether the man walked or drove from the bank. Deputies patrolled the area and all three exits from town.
As of Tuesday night, there were no suspects and all three law enforcement agencies are continuing to investigate. If anyone recognizes the individual in the photographs or can offer any information on the suspect’s identity or whereabouts, contact Chief Jake Adler at the Nederland Police Department, 303-258-3250.
