Now 2013 is upon us and it’s time to kick off the year with a bunch of fun activities for you and your pup. The weather has been a bit chilly but really, fairly warm and snow free for this time of year. I’m hoping that’ll change soon and we’ll see more snow.
Tiki and Bear love the snow, bounding, playing, rolling and acting completely goofy once it hits the ground. What is it about snow that brings out the puppy in all? I don’t have the answer, but I know several who love snowfall. Because temperatures can be deceiving when out playing, keep an eye on your pups’ paws and overall temperature. Even though they’re running around, they can catch a chill. Tiki doesn’t have much of a winter coat and knows when it’s time to head in and curl up by the fire. Bear, on the other hand, will stay outside till her feet turn in to snow balls.
To ward off winter boredom, there are several games you can play with your pup to keep them and you happy. From a fun game of hide-n-seek, to tug-o-war, or maybe teach them hi-five and new tricks, or simply lay with them in front of the fire, reading a good book, petting them till sleep sets in. It’s all good.
Here’s to wishing you and yours the best of 2013. May this year exceed all expectations, present fun adventures, and offer up the best life has. I’m looking forward to watching the year unfold and am excited for what may be in store. The year 2012 was amazing. My guess is 2013 will be too.
