Outdoor Events for FDGD postponed due to High Winds
High winds have postponed some of the events at Nederland’s Frozen Dead Guy Days today. The inside events and parade are still going on. Outdoor events have been postponed until Sunday.
Overnight winds have torn both of the large tents used for the festival. Without the tents, music has been postponed or moved to indoor venues. Organizer Amanda MacDonald has postponed the coffin races and polar plunge until Sunday.
A sign in Boulder Canyon this morning warned festival goers that Frozen Dead Guy Days has been postponed. The high today is expected to stay below freezing according to the National Weather Service.
Sunday is expected to be warmer and slightly breezy, an improvement over the 40 to 60 mile per hour winds blowing today.
Inside events that are still running today include meeting Professor Cryo in the Cryogenic Work Shop at Wild Bear Ecology Center; watching the “Grandpa’s in the Tuff Shed” short film in the Black Forest Restaurant; playing the Newly-Dead Game, also at the Black Forest Restaurant; and participating in Grandpa’s Pub Crawl, which features live music at local pubs and bars.
