Ned Knits Community Knitting Group Makes a Woolly Donation
by Louise Fordyce

The Ned Knits Group has been very busy. This year they decided again that their community knitting project would be to make hats to donate to the Holiday Gift Basket Program organized by the Nederland Food Pantry. Warm hats are vital during our mountain winters. The response has been amazing, the photo shows a sample of some the beautiful hats they made, as well as scarves, mittens and socks. Over 70 pieces have been knitted for this project so far.

A big thank you to our local knitters for all your knitting time: Lisa Coash; Claudia O’Neill; Laura Fisher; Kathy Peck; Pat Ennor; Lynday McGynley; Barbara Siebold; Christy Howe; Mary McHenry. Thank you also to the knitters who made donations and are not listed above. With such an abundance of hats being
dropped off at the library it’s been hard to track everyone involved.

Ned Knits is taking a break in December – our next meeting will be on Saturday January 21st at 2:00 pm at the Nederland Community Library. If you would like to become involved in our next community project – please send an email to be included on the list to: If the meeting time does not work for you then feel free to participate from home.
